AI, Analytics, and Automation: What’s Actually Creating Value (and What Isn’t)

AI is everywhere in admissions conversations. But not every AI tool creates institutional value. This session moves beyond hype to examine where AI and automation are genuinely improving recruitment and student engagement, as well as where they are falling short.

Rather than debating whether AI works, we explore how institutional context, human-in-the-loop design, governance, and strategy determine whether AI delivers measurable impact. Grounded in Huron’s recent research mapping leading companies across the student lifecycle, featured in The RISE 40: Rearchitecting the Integrated Student Experience, this session will highlight emerging patterns in where AI is delivering value and where institutions should remain cautious.

The session will feature a moderated discussion between institutional and EdTech leaders, bringing multiple perspectives to questions of value, risk, implementation, and the role humans should continue to play as AI becomes more embedded in admissions and enrollment.

Panelists:

Kaitlin Dumont: Higher Education Consulting Director, Strategy & Operations | Huron

Christine Murphy: Vice President for Enrollment Management | St. Joseph’s University, New York

Lakshya Daga: CEO & Co-Founder | TruLeague

Dr. Ramon Blakley: AVP Admissions, Strategic Enrollment Management | UT Austin
