You are a high school college counselor working with a caseload of 100 seniors who will be applying to college this year. Many are just beginning to think about where they might apply. They come to your meetings with no list, no clear preferences, and a lot of uncertainty.

Your goal is to help students start building a thoughtful college list—but you don’t have the time to do deep research for each student, and your meetings are often limited to 20–30 minutes.
