Planning a College Night
Scenario:
You are the Director of College Counseling at RLK High School, and you are organizing your annual College Night event in August to kick off the fall college application season. This evening event is designed primarily for seniors and their families, but it will also include helpful content for juniors and sophomores who are beginning their college search.
The Challenge:
You want to create an engaging, informative, and well-organized event that brings together students, parents, school staff, and visiting college representatives. The evening will include multiple breakout workshops, an essay writing session, and will conclude with a college fair featuring 10–15 universities in the school gym.
Event Goals:
Provide valuable guidance on college applications, financial aid, and college search strategies
Give students direct access to admissions representatives
Help students and families feel confident and informed about the road ahead
Your task:
Use AI to help design the full event structure, including:
A 3-hour evening schedule (e.g., 5:00–8:30 PM)
A list of workshop topics relevant for seniors, juniors, and sophomores
A room and flow plan for hosting multiple sessions and a college fair
A strategy for involving college reps (both as workshop leaders and fair participants)
Constraints:
Audience includes students (grades 10–12), parents/guardians, and staff
4–6 breakout rooms available, plus a gym for the fair
Expecting 10–15 universities to attend
Sessions should offer something for all readiness levels
